Kotoko fail Great Olympics test as league title ambition suffers additional setback

Asante Kotoko failed to impress on Thursday afternoon and suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League.

The defeat today is a setback for the Porcupine Warriors as far as the team’s quest to defend the league table won from last season is concerned.

This campaign, the Kumasi-based club has failed to impress and has been inconsistent when it mattered most.

Today, Asante Kotoko had the chance to close in on current league leaders Aduana Stars when the team locked horns with Great Olympics.

Unfortunately, the result at the end of the exciting contest at the WAFA Park in Sogakope did not go the way of the Reds.

Goals from Michael Osei and Emmanuel Akesseh in the first half propelled the Dade Boys to cruise to a deserved 2-0 win over Asante Kotoko.

The result has seen Asante Kotoko dropping to 6th on the Ghana Premier League table and eight points behind Aduana Stars.
