The player has been out of action for the past 6 month due to a knee ligament injury he suffered during the Kumasi based side’s CAF Confederations match against Zesco United where they won 2-1.

He was flown to Germany last month to undergo a surgery at the Klinikum Sustard in Rostock. Renowned Orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Westphal carried out the surgery successfully before Germany’s leading physiotherapists, Andrew Berthold designed a rehabilitation program for him to follow.

Having gone by the program for the past week, he has seen significant progress and is now close to fitness.

Richard Senanu returned to Ghana yesterday with team nurse of the Porcupine Warriors, Emmanuel Osei Owusu.

He is set to report to management of the club today where he will be further assessed by team doctors as he continues his road to full recovery.

The midfielder will miss Kotoko’s match against Kano Pillars in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
