Kotoku Royals close to gaining promotion to the Ghana Premier League

Kotoku Royals FC improved their chances of advancing to the Ghana Premier League after defeating Uncle T United 1-0 in their Zone 3 Division One League encounter on Sunday at Prampram.

Kotoku Royals, the Zone 3 league leaders, won the game in the 50th minute on a penalty kick brilliantly executed by captain Kingsley Afriyie.

Augustine Boakye navigated his way past the Uncle T defense before being taken down in the penalty box by an Uncle T United defender.

With one game remaining against Tema Youth on Sunday in Tema, Kotoku Royals top the league standings with 62 points, three points ahead of Tema Youth, and one point ahead of second-placed Liberty Professionals.

In Zone Two Samrtex have already secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League. The Samreboi-based club that dominated Zone Two of the 2021/22 Division One League has made it with three matches to spare.
