KP Boateng’s latest injury setback clears reported move to Barcelona off the table

Ghanaian forward Kevin Prince Boateng will have no chance of completing his reported move to Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona after suffering an injury setback.

The Fiorentina attacker joined the club in the summer transfer window from Sassuolo on the back of a short and uneventful loan stint with the Catalan club.

Hoping to get back to top form this season, injuries have been his bane, leaving him to spend the bigger part of the first round of the seasons on the sidelines.

Despite his situation, several reports have linked him with a move to FC Barcelona to replace Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez who has picked up an injury.

While KP Boateng would have fancied a move back to the Camp Nou to especially prove that he has the quality to play at the top level, his latest injury means that the deal will have to be called off.

He is expected to spend at least two weeks nursing his injury but could return early February to feature for his Fiorentina side.
