Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu says Kwadwo Asamoah will always be part of the team despite his long absence from the Black Stars.

Asamoah has not played for the Black Stars for almost two years following his reoccurring injuries.

The 27-year old was tipped to make coach Avram Grant’s squad for Ghana’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda but a recent injury has forced him out.

“Kwadwo was one of the important players we had but of late he has been sustaining some injuries that is not good for him and the country.

“We wish him well and we hope he will return as soon as possible to help the team because we really need him in the national team. He is part of the team and he will always be part of the team.

“He is such a good and a wonderful player and I strongly believe he would have gained a call up into the team to play against Uganda and Egypt.”

The national team will play Uganda at the Temale Sports Stadium on October 7 in the Russia 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers.
