Ex-Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah insist Ghanaians need to embrace punishments meted out to UD Las Palmas midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng following his indiscipline in the Ghana camp at the 2014 World Cup. The German-born Ghanaian was booted out of camp in Brazil for disrespecting then head coach Kwesi Appiah and has since been left out of the team. Kevin has shown superb form since joining La Liga side Las Palmas this season scoring four goals and winning the CNN best goal of the week leading to calls for his return into the national team. However, Kwesi Appiah claims the best thing for the Black Stars is to have such characters out of the National team.

"One of the important things we should look at his that, if a new coach comes and a player shows an attitude, it's not just going to affect you the coach but other players get to pick traits from such a bad nut." "If I tell you some outrageous things he did to me, Ghanaians will be wowed. But as a coach, you need to protect your players reason I'm quiet on it." "We need to save the future of the Black Stars by instilling discipline." Kwesi Appiah who is currently in-charge of Sudanese side Al Khartoum is also hopeful of returning to coach the Black Stars again when the time is due.
