Los Angeles Galaxy head coach, Greg Vanney, has confirmed that Black Stars winger, Joseph Paintsil, is set to make his comeback from injury.

This announcement was made during Vanney's pre-game press conference on Thursday, ahead of the Galaxy's match against Sporting Kansas on Sunday, June 16 at the Dignity Health Sports Park.

Paintsil's injury led to his exclusion from the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic. However, the pacey winger has now fully recovered and is ready to rejoin the team.

"Joe's been fully involved this whole week and he was in partial training session stuff last week so he's ready to join the team and be ready to go," Vanney stated.

The former Genk winger has been a key player for the Los Angeles Galaxy this season, contributing four goals and four assists in 13 league games in the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS).
