The Spanish-born midfielder joined Lazio from Belgian side Genk in the summer of 2015, and has gone on to establish himself as one of Serie A'smost promising youngsters, scoring four goals in twenty-four games this season. He has also represented Serbia at U-19, U-20 and U-21 level, although he is yet to make his debut for the senior side.

Manchester United already have a connection with the Milinkovic-Savic family, as Sergej's brother Vanja moved to Old Trafford in 2014. However, he was released in 2015 after failing to secure a work permit and now playshis football at Polish club Lechia Gdansk.

If Sergej does move to England, he will hope to avoid the same issues as his brother.
