LEGA SERIE A FOR PEACE

Casini: " Starting from this matchday, the Captains will wear the armband with the word 'Peace' written on it".

An ukrainian and an italian-brazilian artist will sing "Imagine" worldwide before Juventus-Inter.

Lega Serie A and its twenty member Clubs took action, immediately after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, with initiatives to support the civilian population, which has been severely affected by the ongoing events.
Starting from Matchday 31 of the 2021/2022 Serie A TIM, all captains will take the field wearing the "PEACE" armband to send a message of peace around the world. In addition, the "PEACE" message will continue to appear on TV graphics during each Serie A TIM match.
On the occasion of the big match of the 31st round, Juventus-Inter, the italian-brazilian songwriter GAIA and the ukrainian singer KATERYNA PAVLENKO, leader of the group Go_A, will perform on the pitch, just before the start of the match, singing "Imagine" by John Lennon, in front of the teams on the field and the fans on the stands.

"I thank the clubs for what they have done and are doing for the Ukrainian people and to promote peace - said Lega Serie A President, Lorenzo Casini -. And thanks to Juventus and Inter for embracing the idea for Sunday night, as well as to Dazn for their availability. I chose the song 'Imagine' because it's a universal text, a hymn of hope, which today is also taught in our schools to bring children closer to the values of peace, brotherhood and tolerance. Music reaches where even other forms of art can't: we hope that this message of peace will reach the whole world, reminding us of the fundamental principles of sport. I would like to thank the two artists, Gaia and Kateryna, for accepting our invitation with enthusiasm. Kateryna will arrive directly from Ukraine and I hope she can stay in Italy for a while, thanks to the kind hospitality of the Municipality of Milan, for which I thank Mayor Sala and Councillor Sacchi. I would also like to thank the President of SIAE, Mogol, for having immediately joined the initiative and Sony Music Publishing in the persons of Roberto Razzini (Managing Director) and Paola Balestrazzi (A&R Director), for the artistic and operational coordination".
