Daniel Amartey put in a courageous performance for Leicester City on Wednesday night, just over 12 hours after returning from international duty.

The 22-year-old midfielder played the full 120 minutes of the Foxes' 3-1 FA Cup fourth-round replay win over Derby County, having turned out for Ghana against Burkina Faso in the Africa Cup of Nations third-placed play-off on the weekend.

But what makes Amartey's exploits even more remarkable is that he only arrived in Leicester at 5:30am on Wednesday morning.

At 7:45pm on the same day, he started for Claudio Ranieri's men and went the distance as Leicester advanced to the fifth round of the famous cup competition.

Ranieri said of Amartey: "If you can imagine, Daniel Amartey arrived at 5.30am this morning and played 120 minutes. Unbelievable."
