Leicester Duo Hoping for Tantalising Champions League Last-16 Clash With a European Giant

Christian Fuchs has revealed he wants a dream Champions League last-16 clash with a European giant such as Real Madrid.

The Leicester City full back claimed that the reigning Premier League champions are ready to take on all challengers after the club secured passage to the knockout rounds with a game to spare.

Tuesday's 2-1 triumph over Club Brugge ensured that the Foxes will finish top of group G, regardless of the result they obtain against Porto in two weeks' time and, when quizzed over what it would be like to take on a club such as Real in the next round, Fuchs stated that it would compare to winning the English top flight title last term.

He told the Daily Mail: "It will be the same like winning the Premier League!

"We are good at being the underdogs and giving our best. We are really happy playing with Leicester in the Champions League. It makes us proud, then in the knock-out stage anything is possible.

"I think we have a good squad, we have good quality and everything is possible. We showed this last season that we are able to do great things. Why not also in the Champions League?

'We believe in ourselves and want to win every game. If it works out it is another thing but we give everything for that. It feels pretty good, it has been a great campaign so far. We are very proud."

Claudio Ranieri's men have blown away Brugge both home and away, picked up slender 1-0 victories over Porto and FC Copenhagen and drew 0-0 away to the Danish outfit as their remarkable debut season in UEFA's club competition continued apace.

The Midlands outfit are clearly revelling in their one shot at continental football, and Fuchs' team mate Marc Albrighton agreed that taking on one of Europe's - and the world's - best sides would be the icing on the cake for Leicester.

Marc Albrighton's proved right as Leicester go from strength to strength and qualify for European knock-out stage. Fantastic Foxes.

He added: "Maybe the obvious, your Real Madrids and your Barcelonas would be special. But anyone for me would be great.

'If you get one of the top teams over two legs it would be fantastic. To go to their stadium and for them to come here, the occasion would be immense.

''Some of us might not get the opportunity to play in this competition ever again and we want to make the most of it this year and play as many games as possible. We want to enjoy the occasions but we want to win the games and progress even further."
