Lift your game when given the chance to play for the Black Stars - Oduro Nyarko urges local players

A former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Samuel Oduro Nyarko has admonished local players that will be given the chance to play for the Black Stars in the future to give their all.

According to him, it is the only way to maintain a place in the national team and pave way for more players.

Meanwhile, the experienced football administrator has argued that players should be drafted into the Black Stars based on their performance.

"It is about performance, it is about sustaining your level of performance in the national team. If you are selected from the local league and you maintain your form and can prove that you have what it takes to play in the Black Stars, I think you will be kept there,” Oduro Nyarko told Citi Sports in an interview.

He continued, “It is important you lift your game when you are given the chance to play in the Black Stars and also fit into the level of the foreign-based players. If you don't and you flop, you get dropped from the national team."

The next Black Stars assignment will be in June. It is expected that a few players will be invited from the Ghana Premier League.
