When Sevilla faced Real Madrid on Sunday night, Mir immediately demonstrated that deeds speak louder than words.
His header put Sevilla ahead after 12 minutes at the Bernabéu, giving him a total of five goals since joining the club in the summer.
“I’ve not come to Sevilla to be anyone’s substitute,” said Rafa Mir in Sunday’s edition of Marca.
“Rafa Mir is Rafa Mir, with strengths and weaknesses. People are free to say what they like. Some will like me, others not so much.
“But what I always say is that the numbers tell the story.”
Mir signed a six-year contract with Sevilla on August 20, 2021.
