A near immaculate season had Liverpool topping the Premier League, and despite a 4-0 loss to Man City, the same team would also be their catalyst for being crowned champs. Following a 2-1 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool were technically crowned champions being 23 points ahead of Man City in second place - this is the teams first league title in thirty years, and the first win in the Premier League era.

It comes during strange times too, months of downtime and a rocky start for many teams in the the Premier League have led to some very interesting games and some changes in results that many may not have expected, most teams only have a few games left to play as the end of July is scheduled to be the end of the 19/20 season as efforts are made to work toward the start of the 20/21 season - a great end for Liverpool here could spell a great start to the next season.

The start of the Prem once more and the results that have come may be of delight to many punters too - despite changes in the Gamstop initiative that has given the scheme more authority as it is now mandatory for operators within the UK and a recent change making credit card gambling banned too, this list of non gamstop bookies has provided much relief for fans across the country and those who had bet on Liverpool being crowned champions are surely ecstatic at the early news of their victory.

Many will now be looking to September - although there are still games to play out with a champion already in place they may seem of little consequence, but will provide solid footing for the start of the next season.

Ensuring some level of consistency here and also fine tuning things a little more after the downtime experienced could be essential for many of the teams who have been met with surprising or upsetting results to recapture their previous form, and given the 20/21 season will return to a regular schedule, there may be less pressure for teams to perform at the level they have over an extended period of time with many games played in quick succession.

Returning to a normal schedule may help to even the playing field, but the recent performance may see those at the top in a stronger position to carry recent success through.

There’s also other football to consider that could impact the start of the next season - with the Euro’s being moved into 2021 there could be some disruptions to many of the European players that have an oath to their international team, but for now fans can remain content that there’s a lot of exciting football to come in the coming months once again, and with new champions in place it could mean that there are those feeling more invigorated to play than they may have been before.
