Alex Meret has impressed in the Serie B on his loan with SPAL, therefore making the Udinese-ownedgoalkeeper a Liverpool transfer target, according to theMirror Online.


Premier League giants Liverpool will look to get a firm grip on the 19-year-old Italian in the next transfer window as the Reds are in search for a new goalkeeper at Anfield. However, it won't be an easy task for the English side to sign this starlet, with Udinese now considering to make him a first-choice keeper for next season.

Meret was loaned out to the Italy's second division this season in order to gain game-timeexperience and to discover his talents. He has been a vitalpart to SPAL's success so far in theirfirst Serie B season. His club is sitting in first place in the table and are chasing promotion to the Serie A.


Alex Meret's extraordinary talent has labelled him as "the new Dino Zoff" by some Italian newspapers. Dino Zoff is considered as one Italy's all-time great goalkeepers and for many Italian football viewers Meret reminiscences the Italian legend.


The Italian teen has made appearances for the U17's and U19's Italy national sides and will now strive to make a debut appearance in the Serie A next season.


Liverpool arecurrently alternating between Belgian Simon Mignolet and newcomer Loris Karius in the goal, however, the Premier League side will look to find someone fresh on the scene.
