Liverpool hero Ray Clemence has been impressed by Simon Mignolet's work this season.
Widely rated as the Reds' greatest-ever keeper, Clemence says that Mignolet has answered his critics with a string of fine performances.
“There's a difference between making great saves and making the game-changing saves that Simon produced in Liverpool's recent away games at Stoke, West Brom and Watford," he told the Liverpool Echo.
“They were the difference between winning the game and drawing or losing so those saves were crucial to Liverpool hopes of making the Champions League.
"Of course at a club like Liverpool consistency of performance is essential and Simon will have to maintain the level he's been at recently.
"But it's given him the opportunity to make the No 1 spot his own. I haven't given him any advice but I have tweeted about his displays and he's thanked me for my comments."
