Liverpool Legend Graeme Souness Slams 2 England Players After 3-0 Scotland Win

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has criticised Liverpool and England stars Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana after their roles in the Three Lions' 3-0 over Scotland.

The pair scored two of England's goals, with Gary Cahill heading in the third, but their overall performances for club and country have not impressed former Reds midfielder Souness.

As we saw with his goal, Sturridge has that quality, but what he does not have, and which all successful teams want, is a work ethic," Souness wrote in his column for theSunday Times.

Sturridge is 27 now and I would suggest he's not going to fulfil his potential.

Sturridge has found first-team opportunities limited so far this season, with Liverpool's front three of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane firing Jurgen Klopp's side into first place in the Premier League at the international break.

Adam Lallana also came in for criticism from Souness, who claimed many attacking midfielders don't contribute enough to their teams in the modern game.

Lallana is 28 and has to get in double figures as a goalscorer each season to become a complete attacking midfielder," Souness continued

"Some get away with murder now, saying,I'm an attacking midfielder but not a goalscorer. That's not right.

You have to be scoring and supplying goals in the final third, playing the killer passes.

Sturridge is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League, failing to score thus far this season, but Adam Lallana has thrived so far this year, scoring three goals and contributing five assists.
