Liverpool are in talks to sign Manchester City's on-loan goalkeeper Joe Hart, according to a report inChesire Today.

Hart was shipped off to Torino last summer, with City boss Pep Guardiola bringing in Claudio Bravo from Barcelona. It may be a decision he's regretting, but it doesn't seem like the Spaniard has any plans on handing Hart a place in the side.

The Reds were said to have opened speculative discussions with City over a transfer in January, according to the report, and were told by the player's representatives that he was open to moving to Anfield after his stint at Torino is complete.

Jurgen Klopp is being made to see hell with his two keepers Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius. Mignolet has been pushed back into the fray as Karius hasn't done nearly enough to displace him, but he has been quite error-prone between the sticks this season, despite saving a point for Liverpool against Chelsea by parrying Diego Costa's late penalty.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes that Klopp should have jumped at the opportunity to sign Hart when he was made available, and will probably regret not doing so when the season is over.

"The top clubs don't seem to like using the loan market," he said toThe Times.

Joe Hart will be Liverpool's top target in the summer after Klopp finally accepted that the position needs strengthening. (Cheshire today)

"Jurgen Klopp clearly isn't happy with his two goalkeepers ” Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet have struggled at different times this season."

"He didn't take Joe Hart on loan when he had the chance and he failed to act in January too. It could cost Liverpool."
