Liverpool Set to Beat Arsenal to £20m-Rated Striker Andrea Belotti as Interest Intensifies

Liverpool are reportedly set to beat Premier League rivals Arsenal to the signing of Torino striker Andrea Belotti as their interest in the Italian intensifies.

According to Italian news outletCalcioMercatoWeb, Jurgen Klopp's Reds are preparing to make the first move for the 22-year-old after reports suggest that the club are readying a £19.5m summer bid.

Further reports suggest that Klopp has decided on acting quickly on preparing a bid for the front man to ensure that the Gunners miss out on Belotti, who has been in fine form this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in six appearances in Serie A so far.

The Italian international is contracted with Torino until 2020, however it has been said that the club would be interested in discussing a deal to part with their star goal-scorer due to the size of the bid organised by Liverpool officials.

This campaign marks just a year since Belotti signed for Torino from Palermo in 2015 for €7.5m, and in total has bagged 17 goals in 40 appearances, and is looking likely to add to that tally this season after a promising start.

The youngster has also recently been called up to the Italian senior squad, and marked the occasion with a goal as his countrymen helped secure a 3-1 victory over Macedonia in their World Cup qualifier.
