Look at your tactics before you blame referees – RTK Attifu takes dig at Maxwell Konadu

Retired referee RTK Attifu has taken a dig at Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu after insisting that the gaffer must check his tactics before he blames referees for poor results of his team.

Over the weekend, the Porcupine Warriors club conceded late in added time after referee Daniel Laryea had awarded a free-kick for Berekum Chelsea.

With Emmanuel Clottey scoring from the free-kick to deny Asante Kotoko a win, Coach Maxwell Konadu appeared unhappy with officiating in his post-match interview.

Reacting to the coach’s criticism of referees in the draw, National Physical Instructor of Referees Association of Ghana, RTK Attifu says if Maxwell Konadu has a problem it should be with his tactics.

In an interview with Atinka FM today, the retired referee questioned, “You have ninety minutes to play plus additional time and the referee took a numerous decision which you don’t have a problem with but one decision that went against you is what you want to talk about?.

RTK Attifu continued, “If that decision was in favour of Kotoko would he say the decision was wrong? I mean sometimes we want to blame, look at your tactics, is your tactics good in anyway through the whole ninety minutes? Were you top on your tactics? Were you advancing the way you should?

“Your tactical play how many percentage will you give yourself against your opponent. Your comment is not comment that should be insight the referee because in disrespecting the referee is disrespecting the game. Football is govern by law.”

After two matches in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko remains without a win.

The team hopes to grab all 3 points next weekend when they take on Great Olympics.
