Majeed Waris responds to growing transfer speculation linking him to Nantes

Ghanaian striker Majeed Warris has finally commented on the growing transfer speculation which has linked him with a possible move to French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes.

Currently contracted to Portuguese side FC Porto, the Black Stars asset has become surplus to requirement and has not been used by manager Sérgio Conceição in the ongoing season.

Ahead of the opening of the January transfer window, reports indicate that FC Nantes has renewed their interest in poaching Majeed Warris away from Portugal to help them in the second half of the French top-flight.

However, the move is said to have hit a wall in the past weekend with papers and portals reporting that wage incompatibilities between Waris and the French side have stalled talks.

Replying to the rumor on Twitter, Warris shared, “Don't believe what they read in the newspapers”.

With the imminent opening of the January transfer window, a move for the 29-year-old looks very likely to happen.
