Major squad boost for Hearts of Oak as Raddy Ovouka returns from injury for WAC second leg

Published on: 20 October 2021

Hearts of Oak have been handed a major squad boost ahead of the team’s second leg encounter against Wydad AC in the CAF Champions League.

This is because injured full-back Raddy Ovouka has made full recovery and will travel with the team for the reverse fixture of the game.

The Congolese defender started for Hearts of Oak last Sunday when the Ghana Premier League champions hosted Wydad AC in the first leg of the final playoff round to the group stage of the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League.

Unfortunately, Raddy Ovouka picked up an injury and had to be substituted after just 23 minutes into the first half.

Although it was feared the defender will miss the return leg in Morocco, he has made an early recovery and hence will be in the matchday squad that will make the trip to North Africa for the upcoming match.

The second game between Wydad AC and Hearts of Oak will be played on Sunday, October 24, 2021, in Casablanca.
