Man Utd and Arsenal Reportedly Join in Race for Bayer Leverkusen Winger Julian Brandt

Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedlyjoined the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt in the January transfer window.


According tothe Daily Mail, Spurs and Everton have also shown an interest in the 20-year-old and have sent scouts to watch him over the last few weeks.


All four clubs had scouts present at Leverkusen's Bundesliga game against Koln on December 21, while Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the player throughout the season.

The youngster has scored twice and assisted six times in 12 appearances in the German top flight so far this campaign, and only RB Leipzig's Emil Forsberg and Dortmund starlet Ousmane Dembele have set up more goals.


That impressive form has seen him earn four caps for the German national team, and gain a reputation asone of the country's hottest prospects.


Brandt stood out as a top performer as Germany came close to winning Olympic gold in Brazillast summer.

Leverkusen's sporting director Rudi Voller toldBild, however, that the former Wolfsburg midfielder won't be leaving the club.


He said: "It's not an issue that we give him away. Anyway, he can't get out of his contract."


Brandt reportedly has a clause in his contract that would allow clubs to activate a release clause of €20m, but not until 2018.
