Man Utd boss Mourinho plays down Conte handshake snub

Jose Mourinho has dismissed Antonio Conte's handshake snub after Chelsea's 1-0 win over Manchester United.

Alvaro Morata's 55th minute header was enough for the Blues to claim the victory and move to within one point of Mourinho's United.

The Red Devils boss sought Conte after the game, but the Italian wanted none of it. The pair have recently traded jibes after Mourinho insinuated that Conte should stop complaining about his injury count, to which the 45-year-old responded by telling the Portuguese to worry about United.

When asked about the handshake after the game, Mourinho said: "He disappeared.

"I shook hands with his assistant, which for me is basically the same."

Conte defended his decision not to shake hands, saying: "I think it's not important.

"It's important to win the game.

"You have to earn the respect on the pitch."
