Man Utd Talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic Reportedly Set to Receive Lucrative LA Galaxy Offer

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will reportedly be the subject of an offer from Major League Soccer franchise LA Galaxy as he continues to decide what his future will hold.

According to BBC Sport, Galaxy are ready to make Ibrahimovic the highest paid player in MLS history in an attemptto take him stateside in summer when the Swede's one-year contract at Old Trafford is due toexpire.

Former Ballon d'Or winner Kaka was revealed to be the league's top earner in 2016 when the annual list of player salaries was published last year. The Brazilian earned just over $7m for the season, but it would seem that Ibrahimovic could expect to pocket more - it would still likely be a significant pay cut on his current £250,000-per-week deal in England, though.

BBC sources suggest that Galaxy are hopeful that Ibrahimovic could have the same kind of huge impact that David Beckham had during his five-year spell with the California franchise.

Ibrahimovic is yet to decide what he will do beyond the end of the season. United boss Jose Mourinho is keen for the 26-goal star to stay and trigger a 12 month extension clause, even recently joking that fans should camp outside the player's house until it happens.

Interest from Napoli has also been talked up by Ibrahimovic's outspoken agent Mino Raiola.

Ibrahimovic is known to have a fondness for the United States and was heavily linked with an MLS move prior to joining United. Speaking in the summer of 2015, he spoke highly of the lifestyle and culture and was even rumoured to have started the visa application process.

A decision on his future could well hinge on what United achieve in the rest of this season.

Ibrahimovic recently denied that Champions League qualification, or potential lack thereof, would influence his decision, but he has regularly maintained that he joined the club to win.

United have already captured the EFL Cup this season and continue to battle in the Europa League and FA Cup as well. Should either or both of those trophies also make their way into the veteran's hands he may assess the situation and feel he has done what he set out to achieve.

But, equally, a disappointing Premier League campaign could well motivate him to stay in 2017/18 to help put United back on top in England and add another title to his own collection.
