Asensio is considered to be one of the brightest talents in Spain at the moment, with former Las Rojas boss Vincente del Bosque describing him as a player with 'frightening quality'.

"He is greatest talent there is in Spain," Del Bosque said of the player."He has frightening quality."

The 21-year-old has also been compared to Kaka, Luis Figo and Lionel Messi, and Madrid stand to make a huge profit if they do sell him for £40m, having paid just £3m when they bought him from Real Mallorca in 2014.

Asensio was later loaned to Espanyol, where he impressed immensely, and is now back with Los Blancos. He has made 23 appearances since breaking into the first teamthis season, but is said to be discontent with his current share of playing time and considering a move elsewhere.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on bringing the playmaker to Old Trafford next season, but is believed to be facing a whole lot of competition for the player's signature, with as many as 20 clubs said to be interested in signing the talented Spaniard.
