Manchester United Striker Arrives in London and Could Play Against Chelsea in the FA Cup

Manchester United might have been handed a lifeline ahead of their crucial FA Cup against Chelsea as, according to theDaily Mail, striker Marcus Rashford has travelled to London and could play Monday nightdespite fears he was too ill to play.

The teenage star has been suffering with an illness and it was thoughtdid not travel down to London with the squad on Sunday afternoon.

Butit has now emerged that he did in fact travel down just later in the day and he will be assessed by the United medics ahead of the tie.

Manchester United are currently short of options up front with leading striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic currently serving the first of his three match domestic ban for elbowing Bournemouthdefender Tyrone Mings last weekend.

Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney arealso both set to miss the quarter final with knocks and it was thought manager Jose Mourinho could turn to Marouane Fellaini to lead the line against the league leaders.

However, playing Fellaini on his own could limit United's options in attack so the possibility of having Rashford'space would be a blessing were he to be passed fit.

After bursting onto the scene last season, Rashford has struggled this year only starting 18 games and supplying seven goals.

Speaking on this, manager Mourinho said it was always going to be difficult in the teenager's second season.

"After the season of the surprise, the season without pressure, he comes in and makes an impact. He feels free," said Mourinho.

"The second season was always going to be a difficult one. It's the pressure, it's the people that know him, it's the expectation. Is he a national team player? Is he in the line-up for the club? Should he go to the Under-21 European Championship or not?

"Having all these things around him doesn't give him an easy season. But he is a good kid, a good humble boy. He tries to learn with every experience.

"I think the third season is going to be the good one again, the one with more maturity. He can build on his experiences, so I'm sure the third season will be better than the second."

"We had a nice conversation where he told that even at the dressing-room at half-time he learns so he is a good kid with a good mentality.

"He is playing well. He played centre forward in some matches. He is having his opportunities, his minutes, he is having lots of experiences, so I am happy."
