Marouane Fellaini Urges Man Utd Fans to Stay Behind the Team and Back Jose Mourinho

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has urged fans to keep supporting the team and to fully back manager Jose Mourinho. He further stated that the players will continue to give their all and the Belgian alsothinks consistent winning isonly a matter of time away.

"Count on [Mourinho] because he works hard and gives everything for the club. I think he likes the club and he shows that in training, in games - his frustration when the team is not playing well," Fellaini commented as he sat down to speak with fan network Full Time DEVILS.

"He has a lot of experience - he has coached the biggest teams. So I'm sure, with time, we will win a lot of games - a short time because I think we've done well in games and just need to win."

Asked how players in the dressing room have responded to criticism after a mixed start to the season in terms of results and performances, Fellaini explained that it is just something that comes with the territory, while urging fans to stay onside.

"We are professional, this is our job. Critics will always be there, fans will always be there, saying good or bad things, so we have to deal with it," he said.

"Keep supporting us, because [fans] are very important for us. Keep supporting us because we will give everything for [the fans]."

Fellaini himself has been harshly slated by many supporters since he arrived at United from Everton in 2013. Speculation was rife this summer that he would be one of the first names out of the door, but he received Mourinho's personal assurances that that would not be the case.

The United boss spoke in August of a phone call he made to the player soon after being appointed and Fellaini recalled what he was told, hinting that that gesture was what earned Mourinho his loyalty.

"I was in the [Belgium] hotel for the Euros and he called me to say 'you won't leave, so have a good Euros and I'll see you after'," the £27m midfielderexplained.

"It gives you a big boost and big confidence. Now I'm [at the club], I will fight for the team and for him. He can count on me."

Fellaini acquitted himself well throughout the chat, but one area that seemed to stump him was the question of who the next Marcus Rashford coming through the academy in to the first-team might be.

He spoke very highly of the teenage forward but didn't pinpoint another talent to keep an eye on, either because he didn't want to single anyone out or he couldn't think of names.

"If they are [at the club], then I think they can play," he said, somewhat evasively.
