Juventus manager and Arsenal target Massimiliano Allegri is set to be offered a new deal by the Serie A club, according toGoal.
Allegri has impressed during his time with the Italian giants, winning Serie A twice since his arrival from rivals AC Milan. Juventus are looking to open contract talks in the next few days in the hope of extending Allegri's current deal.
The 49-year-old's contract will run out in 2018, and there has been speculation that Allegri could swap the Juventus Stadium for the Emirates, with the former midfielder being touted as Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's possible long term replacement.
Speculation has increased ever since it emerged Allegri has been learning English, but he has dismissed the rumours.
"I am studying English, but I have been for many years," Allegri told Sky Italia.
"It's incredible, the very day I arrived in London with my daughter, I walked through the airport and saw a giant picture of me on the newspaper saying I was meant to be joining Arsenal. 'Damn it', I said, 'today this had to happen?'
"I am very happy at Juventus and until they kick me out, I'm content to stay."
Allegri is already Italy's highest paid coach, earning a reported €5m a season, but a new deal could see his earnings increase. Should contract talks be unsuccessful, however, then Juventus will turn to Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone as their favoured alternative.
The 46-year-old has earned plenty of admirers for turning Atletico into genuine title contenders, winning La Liga during the 2013-14 season whilst also reaching two Champions League finals. The club have endured a frustrating season this year, withLos Colchoneros currently nine points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
