Last season's Ghana Premier League game between Inter Allies and Ashantigold was fixed, according to the GFA Disciplinary Committee. Ashgold won the game 7-0, with an Inter Allies player scoring two own goals on purpose.

This led to the demotion of both clubs, whereas twenty-one players involved in the game were handed heavy bans.

Some officials of the two clubs have also been banned from the sport for their role in the scandal.
