Published on: 04 October 2017

Accra Hearts of Oak gave up all hopes of winning the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League title after suffering a 2-1 defeat to defending Champions Wa All Stars in Wa.

The Phobians took the lead in the 56th minutes thanks to Samudeen Ibrahim's strike but their lead lasted only three minutes after defender Robin Gnagne put the ball in his own net.

Despite putting in more effort to secure the win, Coach Nuttal and his charges were undone in the 77th minute with Abagna Sandan's goal from the spot after captain Thomas was shown a red card for using offensive language on the referee.

Hearts still lie third on the league log but 7 points adrift leaders Aduana Stars with three more games to go.
