MATCH REPORT: AshGold 4-0 Medeama – Red-hot Miners maul Medeama to lift maiden Betway Cup

AshGold baptised Medeama SC at the Len Clay Sports Stadium to lift the maiden edition of the Betway Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Two goals in each half reduced the Tarkwa-based side to the level of a toothless bulldog as they two clashed in the battle of the Miners.

Richard Djodi opened the floodgates from the spot after Amos Nkrumah was brought down in the penalty box on the 21st minute.

Amos Nkrumah drove home a beautiful curler three minutes later to give the Yellow and Blacks a 2-0 lead before half time.

Mark Agyekum increased the tally on the 67th minute with a tap-in from close range with his first touch after coming on for Sadick Adams.

Just as Medeama felt they had received enough beatings, Ouattara Salia hit the top right corner from the edge of the box with just six minute to end the game to give the Miners a 4-0 win.

Medeama had in their opening game beaten Aduana Stars 5-1 but AshGold’s dominance was unstoppable.
