A Seth Appiah’s brace for Berekum Chelsea sent Tema Youth parking back to the Division One league after a 2-0 defeat in Berekum.
The home side began the game brightly as they tried to get a go-ahead goal but their efforts were thwarted by the spirited Tema Youth side.
However, their incessant attacks would be rewarded after Seth Larbi weaved his way through the defense of Tema Youth to open the scoring for the Blues on the 30th minute mark.
Tema Youth came back from recess much more a better side than the first half as they controlled possession but could not break through the defense line of Chelsea that looked very solid on the day.
Seth Appiah scored his second of the day in the 86th minute with a close range strike after outwitting Stephen Asare on the edge of the box.
Tema Youth tried to half the deficit but Chelsea stood to the test to record an important 2-0 win over the Tema-based side, which effectively dumped them out from the elite division.
