Mikel Arteta remained tight-lipped after he was asked whether Ghana target Eddie Nketiah will leave Arsenal in the summer.

The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer and it is not clear if he will stay with the Gunners.

His representatives have already held talks with Arsenal and another meeting is planned to see if they can find a way forward around how much game time he will get.

"When you see Eddie train in the way he trains, he doesn’t even need to play, you know that you have a player there that is going to help you and he’s done that," Mikel Arteta said as quoted by the club's official website.

"Look at his numbers with the amount of games that he’s played, it’s terrific."

Nketiah scored for Arsenal in their 5-1 home win over Everton on the final day of the 2021/22 English Premier League.

He put up a Man of the Match performance to help he Gunners cruise to a comfortable victory however, Mikel Arteta's side missed out on Champions League qualification for a sixth successive season.

Several clubs are interested in signing Nketiah but it is understood that Liverpool and West Ham are in pole position to pounce for him.

The forward made 21 league appearances for Arsenal this season, scored five goals and provided one assist in the process.
