Ministry of Youth and Sports engages sports journalists to get their input for national sports policy

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has taken an important step towards developing a comprehensive national sports policy by engaging with sports journalists.

Recognizing the crucial role that the media plays in shaping public opinion and informing the public about sports-related issues, the ministry has sought the input of these professionals to help inform the development of the policy.

This collaboration between the government and the media is a positive step towards ensuring that the national sports policy is well-informed, comprehensive, and reflective of the needs and aspirations of all stakeholders in the sports industry.

Hon. Mustapha Ussif chaired the program which was held at the Mensvic Grand Hotel on Wednesday.

"The purpose of our gathering here is to solicit for your inputs, comments and suggestions from you. Our important stakeholders in the sports sector towards the finalization of the draft national sports policy. As corporate bodies active in the sector the fourth arm of the state in which your input to this unprecedented document is most important," Hon. Ussif said

"We therefore look forward in your active participation in this workshop. Ladies and gentlemen the country abounds in sports talents the name Ghana is world known in football, athletics, basketball, handball, arm wrestling, hockey, rugby, boxing the draft national policy will develop to facilitate this discussion will provide a proposed structure for engagement with the stakeholders such as yourself to build a comprehensive policy document that will respond to the needs of the sector and the country,"
