In a new report by Mexican outlet Mediotiempo.com, Monterrey forward Ake Loba's transfer to MLS side Nashville SC is practically a done deal.

The Ivorian forward arrived at Monterrey in January of last year, but was never able to find a good form with the Mexican side and only played in 15 matches in two tournaments, scoring a paltry 5 goals. Loba seemed a hot commodity last year, when Monterrey beat out clubs like Tigres UANL and Cruz Azul to bring in the 23-year-old center-forward, but now he will have to look for better luck in the MLS, as Nashville SC are close to completing a $6.8M move for the player, a record sum in Nashville's history. Loba hadn't been training with Monterrey for a while, and is now expected to travel to Tennessee in the coming days to undergo a medical and sign the contract with his new team. We'll see if the Ivorian will be able to find his form for his new club.
