'Mohammed Kudus is the best No. 10 at Ajax', says Dutch legend Theo Janssen

Ajax legend Theo Janssen says prodigy Mohammed Kudus is currently the best No 10 at the Dutch giants insisting the Ghanaian midfielder deserves a starting place at the club.

The former midfielder is shocked that the Ghanaian player has been left on the bench by coach Alfred Schreuder even though he has proven to be the best in his position.

Janssen, who is now a television pundit in Holland, has been forced to wade into the matter following the furore surrounding the youngster's future at the club.

The Ghanaian youngster is unhappy about being left on the bench when he has proven to be the best player at the club in the playmaker position.

Kudus is demanding a loan move to a club that would allow him to play regularly to continue to hone his career with the 2022 World Cup looming.

English side Everton and Wolves are interested while Club Brugge and German side Borussia Moenchengladbach have also expressed interest in signing the Ghanaian on loan.

Janssen, who was the live match pundit, watched as Kudus came on strongly as a substitute during the Eredivisie match with Sparta on Sunday and believes the Ghanaian is the best player in his favourite No 10 position.

"I saw him come in again and he is perhaps the best ten they have. I think he is a really good player," Janssen said on VTBL when talking about the qualities of Kudus.

"He has good technique and a decent speed. He also has a pretty good kick and overview, so he has a lot of qualities that you need as a midfielder."

Kudus' performances as a substitute for Ajax have been overly impressive as he has gained rave reviews from the media and among supporters of the club.

This comes after an impressive pre-season where he was played out of position yet he managed to score four goals in four matches as a midfielder or striker.

The Ghanaian star has told the coach of Ajax to release him on loan to allow him to play regularly but Schreuder claims he won't allow the youngster to leave.

The Ajax coach told the player in three meetings that he is not part of his starting XI and has craftily shifted the Ghanaian to be back up at the No.7 or No.9 positions which are not his favourite positions.

Despite this Kudus has been committed to Ajax insisting he will play in any position to help the club but wants a move on loan to help him to continue to build his young career.
