Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata could be on his way to the Premier League this summer, with a Spanish media outlet claiming he has told club officials and friendshe wants to join Chelsea.

Gol Diario report that the Spanish striker, also atarget of Arsenal, has been in contact with Antonio Conte, with whom he has a good relationship with after the Italian helped engineer his move to Juventus before leaving to take charge of the national team.

Morata has struggled to get regular game time since re-joining Madrid in the summer, and has been behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

The 24-year-oldreportedly feels it is time fora player of his abilityto be starting regularly, and could look beyondLa Liga to help him achieve that.

Should Morata's situation not change between now and the end of the season, los Blancos could be forced tolose the player for a second time in three years.

It would more than likely take a huge fee for Chelsea to prise the player away though, given theplayer's talent and pre-peak disposition - around £50m to be precise, according to the Telegraph.

Chelsea may well be in the market for a striker and specifically Morata after Diego Costa's head was seemingly turned last month by a lucrative offer from the Chinese Super League.

It remains to be seen whether his resolve will be tested again in the summer, and the future of back-up Michy Batshuayi also remains unclear, with the Belgian hardly getting a kick under Conte this season even when Costa has not been available.
