Morata loving life at Chelsea under Sarri

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata admits he’s more comfortable playing under new boss Maurizio Sarri than previous coach Antonio Conte.

The 25-year-old netted for the Blues against rivals Arsenal over the weekend, helping them to a 3-2 victory.

After struggling to find his form under Conte last season, Morata admits he’s enjoying the change in style that Sarri has brought to Stamford Bridge.

“The main difference is in how we play,” he told Chelsea TV. “Last season we played a very direct style and we had to protect a lot of high balls, which isn’t my best characteristic.

“Now we can attack spaces and play one-touch [passes]. I can throw myself into the box and open space for the wingers.

“Sarri has us work with the ball a lot, and for that reason there are more opportunities for us strikers.”

Chelsea will look to make it three victories in a row to start the season when they take on Newcastle United on Sunday at St. James’ Park.
