MTN FA Cup: Dreams FC GM urges team to "make it count" after reaching back-to-back semis

Dreams FC general manager Ameenu Shardow has urged his team to aim for the ultimate goal, following their qualification for back-to-back MTN quarterfinals in the last two seasons.

After securing a place in the semi-finals by beating Legon Cities in a tense game on Saturday afternoon, Shardow took to Twitter to congratulate his boys and urge them to go for the title this year.

"A back to back semi-final berth is no fluke. Congrats and let’s make this one count," he tweeted.

In a game that was tight from start to finish, the right-back Ebenezer Adade scored the only goal in extra time, after making a daring run into the Cities box.

Despite threats from Legon Cities, both teams were unable to score during regulation time, and the game remained goalless at halftime.

Dreams FC had started the game strongly, with Simba coming close to getting the opener in the 15th minute. Legon Cities came into the game afterwards and threatened to break the deadlock, but with no clear-cut opportunities falling to either team, both goalkeepers were untested.

The Still Believe are into the semis for the second consecutive time after being knocked out by the eventual winners, Hearts of Oak, at the same stage last year. Dreams FC will be hoping to go one better this year and secure a place in the final.
