Sevilla’s most expensive signing, Luis Muriel, has departed Andalusia in order to return to Serie A where he will join Fiorentina.
The forward will undergo his medical examinations with the Tuscan side on Wednesday.
It had seemed as though the Colombian was set to sign for AC Milan this week, though his preference was always to move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi and he has had his wish granted.
Muriel will join La Viola on loan, with the Italians paying €1 million for the loan, while they will hold a purchase option of €13m.
In 64 games for Sevilla, Muriel managed just 13 goals and eight assists.
Now back in Serie A, the forward will be looking to get back to his best having scored 43 times in 165 games for Lecce, Udinese and Sampdoria in Italian football.
