In a candid interview following Dreams FC's qualification to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup, head coach Karim Zito revealed how his association with Ghana Football Association (FA) boss, Kurt Okraku, has affected him.

Dreams FC, the reigning FA Cup champions, secured their spot in the last four of the competition after a thrilling comeback draw against Stade Malien in Kumasi on Sunday.

The match ended 2-2, with Dreams FC having won the first leg in Bamako 2-1.

Zito, who has been instrumental in Dreams FC's success, admitted that his close relationship with Okraku has had its challenges.

Zito also mentioned that during the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) when things didn't go well, he refrained from applying for the national team position due to the potential backlash and controversy it might have caused. However, he stated that he has now grown accustomed to the situation and is no longer concerned about it.

"Yes very much let me tell you so today if they say people should apply for Black Stars am I not qualified to apply but I was afraid me too I have my manager I have my lawyers everything I am the only coach in Ghana that nobody has taken my money from me before me too if your money gets to me i will give to you," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"When we sat down it is like politics because if you are close to the person and they don't like you there is a problem so I didn't do it I didn't do it not because I can't do it, it was that time the Afcon didn't go well. So the hullabaloo was too much and if I did it there will be a problem so now I am used to that now I don't care again," he added.
