Anderlecht winger, Jeremy Doku, revealed that his parents encouraged him to leave to Liverpool three years ago but he chose to stay at the club.

The 18-year-old has become a key player of the side and has been linked to Europe's top clubs including Real Madrid.

In an exclusive interview with Zone Foot Magazine, he disclosed that after visiting Liverpool, he was encouraged to leave but chose to stay.

"If I had accepted their [Liverpool] offer, I might be in the first team now. Or maybe not. What I do know is that I am now playing with Anderlecht. People in my neighborhood would advise me to go there, they would tell me that I might never have such an opportunity again. I see things differently."

"If Liverpool want me when I'm fifteen and confirm with the pros, Liverpool will get back to me later. There were other clubs interested. We also visited the Arsenal and Ajax facilities. My parents encouraged me to leave. It was I who made the decision to stay. I was not ready. I wanted to keep having fun, keep playing with my friends."
