My sporty heart lies with Belgium - Anderlecht winger Francis Amuzu

Francis Amuzu of Anderlecht still has the choice of playing for Ghana or the Red Devils. The winger, on the other hand, is leaning toward donning the Belgium shirt.

The Ghana national team is particularly interested in Francis Amuzu's services ahead of the Afcon 2023 qualifiers, Black Stars friendly games, and the 2022 World Cup.

“They call my broker every day, but I keep it off,” Amuzu told Het Nieuwsblad.

“Look, I was born in Ghana and when I'm there, I feel at home there because of the African atmosphere. My sporty heart lies with Belgium. With Belgium you can go very far at such a World Cup, with Ghana there is a real chance that you will be out quickly.”

A summer transfer abroad might boost Amuzu's prospects of playing for Belgium.

“I have a career plan and we'll see. I had hoped that I would already have more playing minutes at Anderlecht, but then I also have to show myself.”

Born in Ghana, Amuzu moved to Belgium at an early age. He signed his first professional contract on 23 August 2015 with R.S.C. Anderlecht.
