Napoli President Hints at Manolo Gabbiadini's Imminent Departure From the Club

Napoli'sManolo Gabbiadini appears to be on the verge of leaving the club after President Aurelio De Laurentiis insisted that the striker is not suited to the team's current style.

Gabbiadini came off the bench to score a last minute equaliser against Fiorentina on Thursday evening, but the 25-year-oldhas been a peripheral figure for much of the season.

With Genoa'sLeonardo Pavoletti set to undergo a medical at Napoli in the coming days, De Laurentiis has all but confirmed that Gabbiadini will be leaving the club after saying that he felt the forward is unable to adapt to the team's way of playing.

The club president told Radio Kiss Kiss (as quoted byFootball Italia):It's not that he wasn't able to express himself, but rather different things are asked of him and they are not in his wheelhouse.

Gabbiadini scored many goals at Sampdoria and also here under Rafa Benitez, so with a system other than the one Sarri uses he should have a better chance of being decisive.

I thought that his performance in the first season was due to physical issues, but that wasn't the case. He is simply not suited to Sarri's football.

Which means Everton are very close to finalise signing of Gabbiadini from Napoli for 20m€

Something that doesn't fit cannot be made to fit, like an out of key note in a harmony. Sarri cannot lose points to help one player improve.

The Italian striker's next destination remains unknown but this latest development about his Napoli career being all-but over could spark a bidding war between Wolfsburg, Everton and Stoke City, who all are all rumoured to be monitoring Gabbiadini's situation.
