National Lotteries Authority hosts champions Asante Kotoko at headquarters

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have received massive assurances of financial support from its headline sponsor, the National Lotteries Authority [NLA] ahead of the club’s CAF Champions League participation next season.

The Porcupine Warriors who have been crowned the champions of the Ghana Premier League were hosted at the headquarters of NLA on Thursday afternoon.

Nana Yaw Amponsah, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the club together with his management team and the playing body presented the trophy to NLA boss, Sammy Awuku.

Awuku has promised the authority’s continuous support of the club as they prepare to compete in the CAF Champions League this season.

“We’ve got a lot of positive brand image since our association with them. We were able to also market our “Atena” game," he said.

“I will make a case on their behalf to the board of the NLA for them to have a positive consideration of them.

“They have indicated that they are going of Africa and it will be nice for them to be able to count on our support to achieve greater success,” he added. At the start of the season, the Porcupine Warriors entered into a 1 million Ghana cedis a season partnership with the country’s lotteries governing body through its “Atena” Game.

Asante Kotoko will wrap up their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season with an away game against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday with kick-off at 15:00GMT.
