Nations FC coach Kasim Ocansey Mingle has pointed fingers at striker Asamoah Boateng Afriyie following their stalemate against Bofoakwa Tano.

The Premier League debutants played out a 2-2 draw with the Sunyani-based club on Sunday at the DR. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Bofoakwa Tano opened the scoring after 15 minutes into the game through Charles Mensah as the visitors went to the halftime break with the advantage.

But Nations FC responded quickly with the equalizer just a minute into the second half of the game through Barimah Baah.

The visitors found the back of the net again through Emmanuel Boateng to restore their lead in the 83rd minute mark but Prince Acquah scored in the 86th minute to ensure his side escape defeat.

Afriyie, who has been Nations FC's main man this season failed to glitter against Bofoakwa Tano, missing some clear goal scoring opportunities as the game ended in a draw. He has racked up 10 goals an provided one assist in 22 games for the club.

Speaking after the game, the former Bechem United tactician expressed his disappointment in striker, Asamoah Afriyie, saying his wastefulness in front of goal cost them the three maximum points.

“I’m disappointed in him. He had four clear-cut chances but could not utilize even one” he said after the game.

Meanwhile, Kasim Mingle is not giving up on their Ghana Premier League title challenge.

“When the opportunity comes, we will grab it” he said whiles responding to their title chances.

Despite defeat, Nations FC still remain second on the Ghana Premier League table after 26 matches so far this season.

The Abrankese-based club has 44 points, trailing leaders, Samartex by five points.
