Published on: 23 May 2019

Medeama SC finished the group stages of the NC Special Competition with 100% home record by beating Berekum Chelsea by 2-0.

Goals in each half from Awudu Tahiru and Agyenim Boateng sealed a comfortable win for Medeama.

Samuel Boadu made two changes to the team that lost to Asante Kotoko over the weekend.

Goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi and defender Ali Ouattara who returned from their respective injuries started ahead of Yaw Ansah and Musah Ibrahim.

It took Medeama 21 minutes in the game to break the deadlock of the game when Tahiru’s perfect strike found the back of the net to send the home fans into a frenzy mood.

It was a total dominant by the home fans as they look to add on to their lead.

Despite creating a lot of goal scoring opportunities in the game, Medeama SC couldn’t get the needed second goal till the end of the first half.

The Mauve and Yellow side began the second half just like how they ended the first half.

Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Yussif Moro produced a great save to deny Agyenim Boateng and was at the end of another save from Tahiru Awudu.

Medeama kept pushing for the second and threw all their arsenal at the visitors.

Agyenim Boateng sealed the victory for the home side with a brilliant finish on the 83rd minute which ended the match in a 2-0 win in favor of Medeama SC.

Medeama will have to wait for the Eleven Wonders-Ashanti Gold game tomorrow to know their fate in the competition.
