The new head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has stressed that it is very crucial for him to get a winning start in his new job.
The Irish-Ghanaian tactician was appointed as the new head coach of the Black Stars by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in February.
Today, the coach is taking charge of his first match in a game against Angola in the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Coach Chris Hughton highlighted the importance of winning his first match.
“For me personally it will be a wonderful thing and of course hugely important to get the win but more importantly for the team. To win this game at home is hugely important,” Coach Chris Hughton shared.
The game between Ghana and Angola will kick off at 16:00gmt at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium later this evening.
