New Ghana head coach must take Black Stars to the highest level – Mohammed Polo

Ghana’s greatest dribbler, Mohammed Polo has implored the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to ensure that a top coach is appointed to replace former gaffer Otto Addo.

According to him, any tactician who will replace Otto Addo should be able to take the Black Stars to the highest level.

“It will depend because we haven’t seen him [Chris Hughton] as a head coach. We’ve seen Otto Addo and that is why we were so confident and then it was given to him with [Chris Hughton] as the assistant.

“Now Otto Addo is exiting, who is coming on board and what is he coming with? Not until we see him perform, we just cannot take any risk,” Mohammed Polo said as reported by Class Sports.

The former Hearts of Oak head coach added, “How many coaches were there at the Black Stars camp – I think about ten of them or so including the local ones but I don’t know what the management – GFA management, is thinking about.

“But it is very important to identify who can take the technical direction to the highest level.”

Ghana’s national team is currently without a head coach after Coach Otto Addo left the role following the Black Stars’ exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
